Why did you choose Pastry for a career?

Growing up, I spent a lot of time in the kitchen with my grandmother. She was an amazing cook and baker, and I loved helping her in the kitchen, even if it meant eating more than helping. Her passion for cooking and baking sparked my own interest in the art and expression of pastry.

I decided to make a career out this passion and spent years of working in various kitchens and learning from experienced pastry chefs. It wasn't an easy journey, but it was definitely worth it. One of the biggest obstacles I faced was staying consistent in my learning and practice. The pastry industry is constantly evolving and it's important to stay current with new techniques and trends. It also meant spending a lot of time away from friends and family.

Despite the challenges, I am proud to say that I have become the pastry chef I've always wanted to be. I've had the opportunity to work with some of the best chefs in the industry, and I've created pastries that have brought joy and satisfaction to my customers.

“consistency, hard work, and dedication are key”

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a pastry chef is seeing the reactions of people when they taste my creations. It brings back memories of the happiness my grandmother's baked goods brought to our small town community.

To anyone considering a career in pastry, I would say that consistency, hard work, and dedication are key. It's not an easy journey, but the rewards are worth it. The pastry industry is constantly evolving and it's important to stay current with new techniques and trends.
