Jim W Hutchison is an American Pastry Chef with 20 years of experience.
His love for chocolate and pastry was already vibrant when he was young. He began to help his Grandmother in her kitchen and immediately learned the joys of baking and making pastries. From an early age, Jim began to study books and videos of food and experiment in the kitchen alone.
A graduate from the highly regarded Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY he has always believed in constantly learning and improving. “This means sharing information and knowledge. The industry has to grow as a whole.” As with his pastry, Pastry Chef Consultant Jim Hutchison, puts attention to detail and organization into his teaching.
Chef Jim Hutchison’s hard work and dedication to his craft has brought him around the world to see and experience flavors. He has worked along the Northeastern US states as well as a two-year stint working and traveling in Italy. He has a wide range of experience, from large establishments like Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut and the Four Seasons Restaurant in New York City, to small intimate settings like Winvian Farms in the Litchfield Hills of Connecticut.
Jim has made conducting Pastry classes and demonstrations an integral part of his position as an Executive Pastry Chef. While at the Four Seasons, he invited former White House Pastry Chef Bill Yosses to perform a Pastry cooking class alongside him.
Most Recently his success was proven being awarded the "Press Prize" in the Valrhona 2019 C3 competition.
